Mission Statement for Treasure Chests

First and foremost, it should be understood this is not a short-term market timing service. If this is what you are looking for, there are many of these services available, however we will not recommend one. There is actually a very specific reason for this. Short-term trading, although successful intermittently, has generally proven to be a fool's game within the full measure of an investor's needs, objectives, and actual outcomes. It is one thing to speculate on a short-term outcome with a small portion of one's investment capital, which we cannot suggest is completely inappropriate for seasoned professionals. But it is quite another to place large and wild bets in volatile markets which at some point will invariably make you appear wrong, and perhaps cause a loss of capital. This type of thing has been occurring with increasing frequency over the past several years, where it’s important for you to understand we are now in the midst of the most speculative investing environment in history. And make no mistake about it, there is extreme risk in the financial markets these days, and that applies to all markets as volatility is poised to reassert itself, along with reversions to the mean.

Treasure Chests was designed to help remove some of the risks inherent in financial markets and investing by specializing in value-based position trading in the precious metals and equity markets with an orientation geared to identifying intermediate and long-term swing trading opportunities. In this respect, specific opportunities will be identified utilizing a combination of fundamental, technical, and inter-market analysis. This style of investing has proven to be very successful for wealthy and sophisticated investors, as it has a tendency to reduce risk and enhance returns when the methodology is applied effectively.

Value-based investing is a specific style of the discipline (and that is the way it should be viewed, as a discipline) as it offers an orientation that systematically causes investors to hold securities for a prescribed period of time. Correspondingly, it also forces investors to purchase investments at times that may be difficult emotionally, but in reality offer far less risk than buying on momentum. And of course buying value does not mean that growth of your capital is not the primary objective within the overall strategy. In fact nothing could be further from the truth. No, instead it’s important to realize specific securities and markets tend to rotate in and out of favor, and that by holding for the prescribed durations necessary to unlock value, fortunes are made.

In summary then, our mission is to aid you in identifying both intermediate and long-term swing points within individual securities and markets mentioned above utilizing proven technical methodologies and fundamental knowledge.  For perspective, we view swing points as both value release and realization levels, which we will present to you as targets and goals. This allows you to plan your portfolios and personal strategies with our views as reference inputs. It should be understood that we are not financial advisors however, and that aside from your own expertise, personal investment decisions should be made with the help of registered and qualified advisors/dealers within your particular jurisdiction, and that we assume no responsibility for any investment decisions you may make as a result of information contained on the Treasure Chests Inc. web site.
